Scott Perry - Heritage Wood
Scott’s love of trees began aged 15 as an apprentice antique restorer then cabinet maker. He worked on many exciting projects including restoration of narrow boats and showman’s wagons, flooring at Buckingham Palace, design and creation of freestanding kitchens, garden buildings, shepherds huts and entire shop and restaurant refits.
Scott moved to Perthshire fifteen years ago and immediately felt at home in the big tree country. Continuing his passion for all things wood he has built two businesses focused on collecting, air-drying and crafting windfallen, sustainably sourced Scottish wood in his signature expressive style.
Working from his sawmill and workshop in Dunkeld he hand builds large pieces of indoor and outdoor furniture, garden structures, kitchen and house fittings, memorial benches, serving & grazing platters and chopping boards of all shapes and sizes, coat hooks and shelves, candle holders and bottle openers - ensuring that every little piece of wood is used and loved!
He has furnished grand houses and gardens around Scotland including dining tables for Blair Atholl and Taymouth Castles as well as many more modest homes, as he has something to suit most budgets. Currently he is working on a massive table and benches made from the Douglas Fir tree which once held the title of Scotland’s tallest Tree which will be donated to Dunkeld & Birnam In Bloom for St. Ninians Gardens outside our shop.
Scott can tell you the origin and age of all of his trees and loves to research their life and history. He is always happy to take commissions and bespoke orders which can be placed directly through Kat ‘n’ Kat
