I'm Chris, the person behind Birnam Woods.

I moved to Birnam in 2022 from my hometown of Nottingham and haven't looked back since.

After I moved I bought a lathe and started turning vases and tealight holders. Since then I've branched out into bowls, bookmarks, magic wands, vases, pots, clocks, kitchenware and plenty more.

I work with a variety of locally sourced, windfallen and recycled woods, using various techinques to create unique pieces, from large rustic oak bowls full of cracks and live edges to highly polished, ornate jewellery boxes. 

I love what I do and I'm always looking for new, interesting challenges.
